Festiva MF $59 lower if "not participate in tavel insurance"?

Hi,

my Peppertree Atlantic Beach Villas maintenance fee statement gives a MF of $456

The form I have to submitt for credit card payment has a tick box with the line:

"Please check here if you do not wish to participate in travel insurance, substract $59.00 from the balance due."

Nowhere else does it mention this travel insurance thing.

Does anyone know what it is?

I would be happy to save $59 MFs, or what do I get wrong?

This is voluntary travel insurance. Several of my timeshares now offer it. It covers a variety of issues while on a trip using your timeshare week. Examples are Maintenance Fee replacement if you cancel for a covered reason (e.g. death in family, illness, etc), lost baggage replacement, emergency medical evacuation. There is a brief description on Festiva's website.

Festiva has offered this for two or three years. I do not take it, and simply check the box and reduce my payment. I have had no issues with them accepting the reduced payment.
