Virginia Beach Recommendations

We have owned at Ocean Beach Club for a few years but have yet to stay there. We're headed there at the end of the week for a stay. Any tips on making the trip great are appreciated. It's our 25th wedding anniversary!

Nice place! Enjoyed the indoor swimming pool. The fitness center was awesome.

Maybe see if there is anything playing to your interest at the Ferguson Center.

Many great restaurants in the driving area. The Hilton, within walking distance has at least 3.

Happy 25th!

Happy 25th also!

There are some excellent restaurants located in one spot in Virginia Beach. They are all located @ the new Virginiia Beach Town Center off Virginia Beach Blvd. Across from the Pembroke Mall Shopping Center.

Thanks for all the suggestions. So far, we have had two incredible dinners. The first was at Terrapins's (www.terrapinvirginiabeach.com). This is a small place about 2 blocks inland from the beach -- and easy walk from the HIlton or Ocean Beach Club. Lots of locals eat there so it felt a bit like crashing a wedding party where we were the folks who didn't know the other people at the party. Everyone was very friendly though and we had a GREAT time. My husband is a real foodie -- so it's a challenge to find a place with really good food. This place fit the bill.

Last night we at inland about 15 miles at One Fish Two Fish (www.onefish-twofish.com). Like Terrapin's, this is not a toursit kind of place. It's fine dining for the locals and it was REALLY GOOD. We sat at the counter watching the food prep area because we couldn't get a reservation until 9 pm (on Saturday night). We got there at 8:45 and they were packed. We were hungry so we watched the kitchen at work. It was fun. The portions are big and the food was really well prepared. We watched them prepping incredible looking desserts while we waited for our meal. That's one way to increase your appetite! By the time it came to having dessert, we only had enough room to squeeze in a split creme broule which was fabulous. The brownie sundae, however, looked amazing! I just couldn't imagine doing anything but rolling out if I had eaten that. This place is located in a Marina and the setting was quite nice. Next time, we'll make reservations early and try to get there for sunset.

We have an ocean front room at Ocean Beach Club. It's very nice. We own here but have never stayed here before. I think we'll probably return off-season again and enjoy the beach and peace and quiet. It's been very relaxing.
