Exchange or defer use on II

I have a Marriott Maui OF that i won't be able to use in July and as I have never used II would like to know can I place my week in II. Then would I have two years to reuse it and would I be able to get the same unit type at Maui. thanks and if this is a little dahh humor me!

There is no guarantee that you will be able to get the same type of unit at the same location. It would depend on whether another member deposits the type of unit you are looking for, and whether you are at the top of the priority list when the deposit is made.

II is view blind! When you exchange into any resort they will give you whatever view they have been given. When you deposit with II they do not give you any more trading power for your OF then they would give a GV of the same week. If someone deposited a GV with the same week as you did but deposited it before you they would have more trading power than you do.

You may be better off renting out your unit and then renting an OV unit when you want to go if the view is important to you.
