Being a wastegate owner do most here think that II would be the best exchange company for me to deal with? I really hate having to shell out more cash with a yearly fee just to exchange my TS but I guess thats the way it is. Any other ones out there that people think are better?

Whats really funny is WG called me recently and said did I know my Ice Platinum Rewards account that they gave me when I bought the TS was about to expire? I said sure I know, what do you want? The sales guy said do you have internet acess? I said sure? He said well lets get on and continue your membership. I just laughed and said your nuts and dont call me back and hung up. :annoyed:

This is a great place I just wish I would have found it sooner.

Where do you want to exchange into? Some exchange companies are better than others for specific areas, but IMNSHO, there are no "great" exchange companies - if there was, it would put the others out of business!

II gets too much and RCI gets very little. Where do you think its worth more?

If your Wastegate is available to be deposited with RCI (only a few are) then I've found the value to be much better than with II. It makes perfect sense when you think about it as Wastegate does everything they can - legal or not - to force things their way including what they want most owners to feel is exclusive use of II for trades. Add in the over and ever increasing abundance of unwanted inventory being poured into II from all sources and the value is very low for trade. Meanwhile RCI has limited deposits and a huge market that may know the Wastegate name and, incredibly, have demand to stay there (they will learn better but there is a demand from the unaware) so the trade value is much higher. Supply and demand. It works totally in favor of depositing with RCI. Why be just another meaningless drop in a lake of inventory when you can be a big part of a very small pool?

John since I have a week and not points do you think It would be risky signing on to RCI right now?

im sure there are plenty of threads here you can find discussing most if not all the independent companies! dae and tpi even have employees who monitor the forums for information and direct help.

I would also check out the independent exchange companies. Many have free membership, and a request first system, where you do not have to deposit your week or pre-pay an exchange fee until they can confirm an exchange for you. Sign up for free and make some requests!

DAE has got me Stouts Hill in England, Akeld Manor in England, Canaltime in England, and Seasons at Knocktohper Abbey in Ireland. I am not a skiier, so I don't look for that inventory.

I can't advise you on the power of Westgate exchanges, but these are difficult trades!

Why is it that these would be difficult trades? They sure didnt tell me that at the presentation  They said I could exchange to anywhere in the world of course using II or Ice Platium Rewards that they gave me when we signed up but I didnt renew then when they expired as I thought they were a waste of money thats why Im looking for other companies.

:hysterical:  :hysterical:

Oh yeah, I think we've all heard that one.
