WN max occupancy?
Are there max allowable occupancy limits in WN resorts. i.e. If we (wife and I) have 3 kids, can we still use a 1BR deluxe?

Each resort is different, but in most cases, a 1BR is limited to four people.

I have never seen a 1BR that has anything larger than a 2/4 occupancy. You should call the resort in question to inquire.

I agree with Yvonne, I can't remember ever seeing a 1 bedroom that sleeps more than 4. Even if you tried it, it would be very cramped. The Wyndham guide list occupany rates by unit. You may want to reference the guide or tell us which resort you are looking for so we can tell you the exact occupancy.

Okay, yeah i had seen the 2/4 for singles and other numbers for other size units but wasnt sure if it was maximum occupancy or "suggested". Thanks for the clarification.

Generally it is 2 people per bed. So in a 1 br with a pullout you get 4, 2br with a pullout you get 6 etc. So the pull out is important for occupancy. However, I have never had anyone actually check how many I had with us. We did a 1br RCI exchange at Wyn and we had people coming and going all week. Unless someone complains I doubt you would have an issue except 6 in a 1br IS TIGHT!!!

There is a 1 BR at Santa Barbara that is 4/6 but it is the ONLY location with a sleeps 6 BR that I know of. In fact the 1 BR and 2 BR at Santa Barbara, Pompano Beach are the exact same sq ft. They both also have 2 Bathrooms.
But otherwise, all other are a 2/4 configuration for a 1 BR. Some places are very picky about maximum occupancy. Is it also fire code restrictions. However, as other as suggested, 1 more may not make a difference, 1 more family might. I have neighbors that take 3-4 adults and 6 kids in one room hotel room. No thanks, I am not in for that. I have neighbors who always want to do that. I need a little privacy, 17 is just too many. Isn't against fire codes.

It IS against the fire codes! But I don't think, unless it's an obvious excess of the OCC numbers that the resorts staff is going to do a head count. They DO ask you to list the names of all the occupants when you check in however. Still an honor system thing though. Just be aware that there are occupancy limitations and if those are exceeded the resort can legally request that you de-occupy the premises immediately.

I think myself and a few other guests may have ratted a group like that out at Summit Watch 2 summers ago(they left only after a few days or they kept the 10+ kids locked in the room for the balance of the week). |
