I am one of the fortunate timeshare owners that can travel at virtually anytime throughout the year. That works great for me regarding most exchanges. Also, I am very flexible about where I will go--I like to see what's available and make a choice. So I'm the easiest customer you can get. But it's not helping at all with DAE. It seems that there is seldom anything in your inventory--at least in the US. I have two weeks deposited that are expiring in November and I seriously have not been able to find ANYTHING of value to trade into in the US. :(

When I look at your "Search Availabilty" for the summer of 2010 I see the following for the ENTIRE USA--

June:3 units--two in Maine, one in Utah
July: 1 Unit/Gold only--Florida
August: 3 units--Caliifornia, Florida, Arkansas
September: 3 units/2 Gold-Colorado, Missouri and 1 regular-Colorado.

Really? That's the entirety of the whole United States inventory for the entire summer? I have been looking for well over a month and finding virtually nothing but the same results.:bawl:

My question is--How often do you update this? Is it is updated daily, or weekly, or monthly? Do you really not do anymore exchanges than that in the entire US?

Is my only option to request a specific area or resort and then sit and wait for something to come in? I'm really flexible and willing to work with you folks, but I need to know if that's really ALL you have to offer? Or am I missing something here???:ponder:

P.S. I have traded with you for Mexico in the past and was happy with your service. That's why I deposited more weeks. What should I do?

Sounds like you should call them.
They are very helpful on the phone. :crash:

They got me a nice bonus week once. They even called the resort to straighten out a problem since the resort wasn't used to dealing with the indie exchange companies and they called me back several times to make
sure everything was okay.

Thanks. But I KNOW I can call them and talk. That defeats the purpose of what I am asking. How do you start a search when you don't know where you want to go? I can quickly rule out the "Usuals" such as Orlando, Williamsburg, Myrtle Beach, Hilton Head, Las Vegas, etc. What I want to see is the small out-of-the-mainstream timeshares that may be interesting.

If I called them where would I start???? "Read me everything you have available in the United States over the summer?" In the past I have been told by couselors that I have to narrow my search. Why--just tell me what you have open today and I'll probably find something to choose that I like. But I don't know about the smaller resorts I have never heard of--so how can I request them?

Look at Platinum, they publish a great AWay list. RCI let's me search, so does II. SFX (who also has two of my weeks) cannot find anything from the 20 or so locations I have given them. And DAE has less than 10 timeshares available in the entire USA for the entire summer???? C'mon.....:hysterical:

I can see how you'd be frustrated with USA exchange ops. :crash:

I think DAE caters more to Brits (hint, the British flag logo) so they seem to have more inventory in Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and Europe.

I think your just seeing a reflection of who their real market really is.

If I was contemplating an Australia or Europe trip then I'd probably deposit with them but for USA summer vacations I think your better off somewhere else IMO.

Maybe you can change your summer plans to Europe instead. They seemed to have good availability in Costa del Sol and elsewhere.

Good luck to you.

Hello - Don't rule anything out!

It's a very interesting time for us. The lack of domestic inventory shown on our site is due to a couple of trends.

First - it's coming up on summer. Most of our summer weeks have already been booked leaving off season availability on the web.

Second - as our business continues to grow we have spent much of our time soliciting and fulfilling requests. These requests come in either very specfic to a resort, or very specfic to a destination. You can always browse potential inventory to requests against by doing a "resort search" on our site rather than an "availability search" (http://www.daelive.com/articles/resorts.aspx).

The way our request matching system works is that any new inventory that gets loaded into our system is caught by a "request net" keeping that incoming inventory from ever showing up on the web site. The more requests we accept and fulfill, the less inventory is coming up on the site. It's been an interesting shift for us to manage. We have very recently struck up new inventory partnerships that will result in better displayed inventory on the web site after having satisfied a large pent up demand for specfic requests. You will see this change over the next few months. In the meantime though, give us a call and we'll talk about what type of experience you are looking for out of your vacation and let us make a recommendation or two.

Check out the resort list - do some shopping and we'll do our best to fulfill. We appreciate the support and will continue to do our best to get you a great vacation! We're here to help.

Thanks for the input. We're not always spot-on, but we are trying and appreciate all feedback.

Thanks for the explanation.

I appreciate you taking the time to let me--and othes know how you are inproving your systems. Thanks.:D

I will give you a call and see what we can work out inthe near future.
