I was just on a DCL cruise and noticed a lot DVC stickers/magnets on doors. What perks do DVC owners with DCL?

The perks are recognition and depending on the length of the cruise, they always have at least one DVC member appreciation event where they will sometimes have free drinks, and virtually always have free DVC caps, and miscellaneous small giveaways.

DVC members can get a special lanyard from the DVC sales kiosk if they didn't see the DVC folks in the terminal to get one, and there are often little giveaways ( I do mean little. Cutesy trinkets usually, occasionally a Disney pin) that are almost daily. It helps drive traffic to the DVC kiosk.

Oh and on any given DCL cruise there are usually a sizable percentage of passengers that are DVC Members. I've been a DVC Member well over 2 decades and have been on a LOT of Disney cruises, sometimes using my DVC points to pay for the cruise, sometimes not.

Did you have a great time on your Disney cruise? My family LOVES it!!! And my kids are all now young adults! :)

Kids loved it. It was our first cruise.

We got a Concierge Suite and we really liked the service. We were not thrilled with Castaway. Overall, we would probably do it again.

However, they do seem overpriced compared to other lines. Are they worth it the extra $s?

Wow! Sounds like you had an awesome first DCL cruise! :whoopee:

"Worth the price?". That is an ongoing battle of the forums on a Disney forum. LOL It is so subjective. For instance, I could never see springing for a Concierge suite because it is so much more than my preferred Verandah stateroom. So for me that choice is not worth it but to you and lots and lots of other great folks, it is. DH, myself and all our brood prefer DCL. The ships are the most gorgeous at sea IMHO. The service is generally stellar. They don't nickel and dime you as much as some cruise lines. I don't gamble and love that all that square footage other ships give to casinos is all kids clubs.

The only meaningful perk is 10% merchandise discount on the ship. I forgot all about the magnet and left it on the door, and didn't even know about the DVC lanyard (would have been nice since it was our first cruise and you don't get a lanyard unless you have cruised before).
