So I went "timeshare stalking" as my daughter called it while we were in Scottsdale. While I was at SDO I asked to see a remodeled unit and they just gave me a key. I tried to get some photos with my phone (and I guess it woud hae been helpful to wipe off the camera lens) and I hope that the SDO owners will feel good about the remodel. The pictures do not do it justice. The units are beautiful.

Sorry that I forgot to take a picture of the vanity area on the large side. I remember that it had double sinks.

One other thing that I noticed was that the ceilings seemed high. I was in a ground floor unit and I'm not sure if they managed to raise the height of the ceilings or if they were always that way, but it made the units seem spacious.

There was a lower part of the ceiling in the bedroom. From the pictures, it looks like that lower ceiling section is removed which makes the room look bigger. The lighter paint tones make the room look brighter and bigger. Also, there is a king bed on the small side... it looks like it! :)

I noticed that too - and there is also a lower ceiling in the kitchen. The units really feel spacious. And that is a king bed in the bedroom of the smaller side. It takes up the whole room, but I think it's the way to go, especially if it is just a couple occupying it.

They were also painting the exterior of the buildings. There's a really nice shaded playground on the premises for kids and the pool is pretty nice. It's not as fancy as Kierland (obviously) but it's nice enough. Kierland feels more resort like and Desert Oasis feels more like a condo complex.

When is the remodel scheduled to be done?

Do the large one bedrooms have walk in showers? I remember seeing old pictures where the shower looked quit difficult to get in and out of.

Glad to see the grab bars too :)

The large side has a nice big shower. I think you are referring to the spaceship shower on the small side. That is gone, gone, gone. It is replaced by a typical shower/tub. :)
