Unable to find availability at Sunrise (Park City, UT) or Valdoro (Breckenridge, CO)

Has anyone had any luck booking a ski vacation at either Sunrise Lodge in Park City, UT or Valdoro Mountain Lodge in Breckenridge, Colorado if those locations are not your home resort?

Yes, I have book both last year and again this year without using my home weeks. You need to book exactly at the 276 day window. Park City seems to have more availability than Breckenridge outside of the home weeks.

I do also have both as home resorts during ski season. I have watch both resorts closely this year because I was curious.

Park City has a 2-bedroom now starting the week of March 17 during ski season. You can book the first 3 days now and then add 2 days to the reservation on Monday and a day each the following days (until you have a full week). But I expect that this will be taken very quickly. I do know that the 3 & 4 bedrooms are grabbed immediately.

Last year, Breckenridge had some openings in early December for January (when some start cancelling reservations just prior to the 30-day window).

If you have specific dates, then that will be more difficult.

Out of curiosity, do any Sunrise or Valdoro home-resort, 'Gold Week' owners have difficulty booking in those resorts during winter holiday weeks?

I'm debating purchasing a resale at either resort but summer weeks. Any recommendations or suggestions?

I managed to snag a studio in Park City for a long weekend (Dr. King's Birthday Holiday weekend), but I booked it pretty close to the beginning of the 9 month window, and while I'd have loved to get something larger, I was happy to find three days on a weekend in any size unit.

I am sorry, I didn't watch those particular weeks (since I don't go skiing during those weeks). I would expect that they would have been pickup via home reservations. If your kids have spring break in March, that might be easier to come by at Park City. I know that Breckenridge 3-bd were all reserved by home reservations in March. (I will address your other question later after I do a little research)

Very unlikely you will get 51/52 at Park City, those are fixed event weeks automatically booked for the owners. You may get very lucky and catch a cancellation later in the year if the owner cant use or rent it.

I have booked both places during the summer season the last two years at 9 months window. That is more easier to get than ski season but does completely book especially Breckenridge.

Breckenridge summer (weeks 26-36) are platinum season. Breckenridge platinum weeks are sold to owners as either winter ski or summer season.

We personally like Breckenridge a little more because you can walk to the town from Valdoro. Note that Breckenridge is located above 9000 feet. We have a trip coming up in 30 days to Valdoro.

Sunrise Lodge is actually located on the canyons side of the Park City ski resort. I like the facilities more here.
