We're at Lagunamar now. We arrived a couple of days ago. So far the weather has been cooperative. Hopefully, it will stay this way for at a couple more days before some possible rain.

Having the Soriana so close by is wonderful! The delivery service worked well.

No issues that I can see with pool chairs. This place is so big that I don’t think there should be a problem finding seats unless one focused on a specific area.

We'll be here for another week. If there are any Tuggers around who would like to meet up, that would be great!

for all the good reviews at Lagunamar. We decided that our March break trip will be here rather then Bahama's.

Thanks everyone!

A few things to add from the owners update that may be of interest:

1. It took the full 90 min., but was very low key/almost no pressure.

2. We opted for the $100 resort credit instead of the 6,500 points. Given the uncertainty with SPG going forward, I was adding more to our SP total.

3. Pricing that we were quoted for WLR was $25,900 for 2 bedroom Plat EOY & $13,900 for 2 bedroom Gold EOY.

Hi Glorian - great to hear from you.

The resales I have seen for WLR EOY have been <$1000 (to free) - that is one hell of a premium to pay to VSE. Ouch...

Is the Platinum EOY really almost double the price of gold? At that price, it would put the Platinum annual at over $50,000? That can't be the price?

Yeah, I was thinking the price wasn't that bad (for developer pricing) until I remembered it was for EOY. Usually, the EOY price is about 60% of the EY price, I think. So that would put the EY at about $42K or so. I assume the Gold season just isn't as popular and/or they have more inventory.

I do think that WLR Plat does retain some modest resale value. Not sure about the Gold season, though. It is a beautiful resort, and I'm happy to own there.

The annual platinum pricing is $45,900. However I am told there is very little platinum inventory
that remains.

I just bought a fixed Christmas week resale a few months ago for $7,000. $45,000 seems really high. I understand it is a beautiful resort, though. We're going for the first time in December.

When I was watching prices trying to buy a gold week, they were ranging up to about $2000. I think I was trying to buy at the wrong time of the year. Right around prime travel season when everyone was returning from their great trips to WLR and running up the EBay bidding. I didn't end up winning any of the auctions I bid on. Ended up going with an annual 81K SVV Bella week instead.

Lagunamar During Pres. Week 2017!!

Miracles do happen I got in today for a week over Feb break using staroption points!! I am so excited! We got a 2 bedroom and now the anticipation starts. Any suggestions for what to do with two older teenage boys? Fishing trips? We have never been to Mexico for longer than a day on a cruise. Also found a decent priced flight on the red eye from Boston in Aeromexico! Anyone have any opinions on that?? Thanks so much

My guys LOVED the zipline through the cenotes tour. Also a day at Xel Ha snorkeling, zipline and tubing is very fun. We have also rented a golf cart on Isla Mujeres for a day. Very fun also.

We have done Xel Ha (snorkling, inner-tubing,...) and Explor (ziplining, ATV, inner-tubing through underground rivers,...) with our teens/young adults. Explor would be our pic of the two. Of course there is Chichen Itza and similar tours. Take a day and visit Ilsa de Mujeres. Enjoy the beach there for a change of scenery :)

We did Selvetica (sp?) with our teens. They loved it! Another vote for Isla de Mujeres.

Another +1 for Isla Mujeras. Specifically Playa Norte. The beach and water is calm and very enjoyable compared to the surf in the hotel zone. It's a public beach so it's free. Also there are some GREAT restaurants worth eating at as well. I was able to trade buying some Coronas from a restaurant on the beach for using the table for the day.
