Hi everyone,

Thinking about exchanging into this resort, but never been there before and may only be able to exchange into a small unit. Interval shows it as

Number of Bedrooms: 0
Private Sleeping Capacity: 2
Maximum Occupancy: 4

Does this mean it's a studio. If there's 5 of us (3 young kids), would we be able to squeeze in.. is it allowed (since it shows Max 4).. Anyone who's been there recommend if this is practical, or should I rent a 2nd studio and split us up.

Thanks,

Yes, this is the studio. And no, you will not be able to fit. It's very small.

There is a reason for stating the occupancy of SVO villas.
It is a studio - although it does not matter as 4 is the occupancy for either the 1Bd or studio.
It is a great resort - better weather in summer than winter.

If your youngest is under 2 Or one or something there may be an exception.

This is a one room unit - I think it would be way too cozy for 5, plus you won't have beds for 5, nor will they allow a roll-away:

You should put in an on-going search for a one bedroom, or 2 bdm. if you own a 2 bdm. OGS are filled BEFORE anything goes online, and usually the bigger units get snagged that way. When you are only looking at the online inventory, you only see what's leftover, after all the OGS have been filled.

thanks for all the replies.. I think in order to make sure I don't get left out in the cold, I'll just get 2 studios from online.. I've had ongoing requests in before for Kaanapali for months and months and never got anything. And I've only got 2 x 1 bedrooms on exchange. Since this resort has max occupancy of 4 for the one bedroom, it wouldn't help me if a 1 bedroom was available instead of a studio.. I'd still need 2 rooms.

is there any way to tell from the online inventory how many are available ?.. i.e. I assume you can only exchange one unit at a time.. so is it in theory possible that I could reserve one studio and then when I try to reserve a second one for the same dates right away it's not available (i.e maybe there was only one unit available to begin with).

Can I phone Interval and have them do it since they can likely see the same inventory online and then have them make the confirmation for me?

Actually, they allow 5 in the one bedroom because they allow a roll-away in the one bedroom, but not the studio.

Princeville is a much easier exchange - no comparison to Ka'anapali

If you reserve 2 studios there is no guarantee they will even be in the same building.

They charge you extra if you call, but if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself, that's one option.

Here's what I'd do - grab the studio and if a one bedroom or 2 bdm. shows up in the online inventory, you can do a re-trade, but you will have to check Interval religiously.
