While managed by HGVC, affiliates such as this are free to offer their owners all sorts of services like rentals that owners at true HGVC resorts do not get.

Affiliate-owners have the option of using or depositing their weeks with HGVC as they wish, and thus are free to keep their week and rent them out, as they choose.

There are some critical questions to ask:

How much will they rent your week for?

Is it guaranteed?

What happens to your week if it doesn't rent?

What happens if only part of the week rents?

Are there other fees, besides the 35% commission?

What weeks have the most demand? (That's what you want to reserve.)

Many times, once you turn your weeks over to rent, you can't get them back, and if they don't rent, or only part of the week rents, you are just out of luck.

Most of the time, you are better off renting your timeshares yourself, because you will have complete control, you don't have to pay a commission, and if it doesn't rent, you can use it or deposit it - you don't lose it.
