aamista,

My wife & I are joint tenants on both TS. If it cost more nobody said anything about it.
You both have the same ability to make reservations & check in including open season. With us everything has always been the same, we each have ID cards with our names on them.

Enjoy!

JM

Joint tenancy (typically "by the entireties" for married people) is a common
form of ownership for TS's... It's how DW & I hold ours.

This type of ownership has significant advantages:
(1) It's immune from creditors claims against one person, and
(B) it avoids probate for the survivor.

It doesn't cost anymore. Either of you can make reservations (incl. O/S).
Bookings typically will show both your names and either can check-in.

Also, you'll get a joint HHonors account (which are otherwise individual).
It starts out Silver tier, but with an affinity CC, it can be easily bumped up.

The downside: You'll likely have to take your wife with you on vacations.

In the transfer docs sent to HGVC should be a form in which you list the account number and ask that it be used for your joint account. It's gold status will survive. Otherwise, they'll set up a new account and you'll need to call HHonors to ask that they combine the accounts and confirm that it has your gold status.

I seem to recall that there's a space for it on the ROFR waiver request form, where you also specify a closing date and year of first use, but you might cover it when submitting the deed. I suggest that you check with the broker or call HGVC and ask for their transfer office.

Even if missed, it's something easily fixed.
