Last minute exchanges on RCI

When we bought into Wyndham several years ago, they told us that anything available to book within the next 30 days is 28K points ON RCI, no matter the resort or room size. Is that option not available anymore?:annoyed:

You simply cannot believe everything a sales person tells you...

The 28K perk for Wyndham owners was eliminated as part of the 1/11/11 RCI massacre.

Before that one could book several months out using a 28K deposit to snare say a 154K-231K point reservation if made through Wyndham web site.

Basically one would deposit 154K points as three 28K units and one 70K which gave them a visible. You then had to call to book!

Our original timeshare is a weeks 1 bedroom (4/2) unit. I have exchanged that for a 2 & 3 bedroom unit several times in the less than 45 day check-in window with RCI. Havent done it in probably 10yrs though. When our 3 children were small a 1 bedroom was tight and often we were above the occupancy limit so I waited until the last minute to get a bigger unit.

Obviously there wasnt a great selection and often not in high demand areas but a bad vacation is still better than staying at home or working! YMMV

RCI has Last Call, but it is in dollars instead of points. Usually under $300 for the week. Different size units are available.
