Just wondering if anyone has had any success exchanging into any Royal resort with an RCI exchange search? It would be cheaper for me to pay an exchange fee if I can get a 1bedroom or bigger for week 6 in february 2017 then paying for 2 extra days at the resort, I have so many points that I have to use anyway so I figured if I could exchange in I would save about $300 I was just wondering who has had success if anyone during prime season. It doesn't pay to do this with II because I have to use my week where RCI would only be a small amount of points

Do the Royals even exchange via RCI any more?

Even quite a few years ago, there were limited units from old contracts.

If they've moved back to RCI, I guess I've missed those tidbits.

Yes they are now affiliated with RCI, you can still deposit with interval international which most people do but they are no longer affiliated with interval.

not sure what your success rate might be but have you given any thought to renting privately from an owner?

Thanks, obviously wasn't aware of that. Always thought I'd try them, but don't want the AI. Miss PJ Rose hanging around.

If you rent from an owner AI is optional,

That is correct. I'm renting from an owner at Royal Sands at the moment.

AI is optional or can be had at a reduced rate. You can take the minimum of four consecutive days instead of the whole week (which is what we did).

I've got two 18 year old boys with me and at $69 a day, it was totally worth it.

It's $99 for exchangers and you have to take the whole week.

The only resort in Cancun you would have to take the AI is the sands, the Royal cancun is optional. Try it you will like it! :)
