Hello everyone- I just joined. I've owned at DVC Beach Club Villas since 2003 and I bought Mayan Palace NV about 10 years ago. I did a resale add-on at Disney about a year ago.I use my TSs every year. I use the MP at Riviera Maya. For me at least they've been a good investment.

I was reading some of the threads and there are some sharp cookies on here who really know their way around a TS. I'm sure I'll pick up a few tips. One of the things I've been doing is when I need more room, trading in my MP hotel room to RCI and exchanging for a 2BR unit. Of course I have to pay the exchange fee, but to me its worth it.

Hello and welcome to TUG

You're right about the "sharp cookies"!

I've been timesharing since 1984, but I come to TUG each day. I'm always learning something. It's a great community to discuss and share knowledge and opinions.

Bc Bum you are just the person I need to ask this question. I am new to GM ownership. I own a master room only with GM. I have one red week that I can use beginning 2012. I want to reserve a 2 bd, so that family can join me. I was told at sales pitch that I just had to pay a higher MF or usage fee. However, I'm reading these posts and it seems like you can only reserve like ownership. Meaning I can only reserve other master rooms nothing bigger. Is this true?? I am a hgvc owner also and you can reserve anything you want as long as you have the points. Can u help me with understanding how GM works?

You might want to post this on the Mexico forum
