So which do you prefer.

I like the Karen Ave. property. It was refurbished a couple of years ago and has a pool, game room, store/deli, and exercise room. All are small, but so is the property. A relaxed atmosphere after the craziness of a day and/or evening on the Strip.

Well there is no way you were going to go to Mt Charleston (up 95) "and" Bryce Canyon (I15) in one day, so I assumed that Mt Charleston was 1 day & Bryce Canyon was another day.

Sorry for for trying to help :crash:

Yes we will do these on separate days.
We have a week and I don't plan on working the whole week at the convention.
Gotta leave time for fun.

And I appreciate all the tips.
Will definitely pass it along to the driver.
Maybe we will overnight somewhere near Bryce.
I hope it's open in march.
Do they close those roads ?

I know what you mean! I was huffing and puffing just walking out to some overlook points.

It's awful isn't it?
My poor little heart doesn't like thin air. :(

We went to Zion and Bryce in early April. In Bryce the park was open, but not much else.

The only place close to Bryce Canyon National Park is Bryce Canyon City. Remember I said not many restaurants? Well only one is open the time of year we were there, the other few open up later in April or May.

Here is some information on park hours from the park website:

The park is open 24 hours per day throughout the year. There may be temporary road closures during and shortly after winter snow storms until plowing is completed and conditions are safe for visitor traffic. Road maintenance may require brief closures of individual areas at other times.

Facilities

Visitor Center

Operating Hours
Summer 8am - 8pm (May - September)
Fall (October) 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Winter (November - March) 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
Spring (April) 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

Hmmmm. Maybe we should do a tour from Vegas instead.

Or, just stay flexible and see what the weather conditions are when you get to Vegas. You could decide then if it makes sense to do that long drive. :D
