Purchased a timeshare from CJ Timeshares

I made a purchased from CJ Timeshares.The price was very fair but I had to pay upfront by credit card.Has anybody used this company before.I made the purchase because a member of TUG offered one of their timeshares on ebay and he appears to very reputable.Thanks for your help.

You could do a search using the search function in the blue bar near the top.

Paying them before they start the transfer is normal and you did pay with a credit card so you have a way out if there is a problem.

I bought from them several times and have spoken to them on the phone. I'd do business with them again, no problem.

Some people think that the payment is up front but this is not actually the case. PCCs expedite the process and they basically skip straight to the closing. They either did the pre-closing work already or they skip some of the steps. You generally always have to pay at the point of closing, which with a PCC is immediate. Money never, or should never, change hands after a deed is already recorded.

PCCs that take CC's assume a lot of risk with disputes being so heavily favored to the buyer.

This sounds a bit odd, or I haven't read you correctly.

Are you saying the TUGer was offering his own timeshare on eBay (and that it was listed by CJ Timeshares)?

Or did you mean that the TUGer simply pointed out the CJ listing on eBay to you, along with a tacit endorsement of the company?

A "reputable" TUGer is probably a very experienced TUGer. I could be wrong, but I find it hard to fathom that a TUGer would actively seek out and use a PCC to sell his personal timeshare. There are other easy and less expensive ways to get rid of a timeshare by listing here on TUG, or listing on eBay as an individual, than to go through the added expense of "hiring" a PCC to do it.

That said, CJ Timeshares has gotten decent reviews by other users here on TUG, and I don't think you have to worry about the conduct of the actual transfer process and legitimacy of the company.

I bought my last 2 timeshares from them. A genuine pleasure to deal with. Very responsive and fairly quick closings. I would buy from them again!

Jason is great to deal with. I have purchase from them and would not hesistate to do so again.

I've made two purchases with CJ and they have been very professional. Both were handled quickly.

I have had great luck with them as well.
