Wife and I flew to Nassau, Bahamas last summer and paid less than $250 including taxes/fees. This summer rates look to be $400+ before taxes/fees. Does the price always fluxuate like this?

We have invested in a Bahamas timeshare, for one reason, the cheap airfare that we thought we could get. Is any Caribbean destination cheaper to get to than another?

I truly think it's hit or miss. Do you use a search engine like bookingbuddy.com?

Our direct flight from Phila to St. Thomas on USAirways used to be $800pp, but now it runs around $500pp. So we've seen the reverse of what you are currently experiencing.

We live in Pennsylvania and have a timeshare at Harborside Resort in the Bahamas. We have found the Continental Airlines have the lowest airfare from Newark, NJ. to Nassau. They have direct flights which take about three hours one way. The per person cost for May 2008 is $273.71. Early June is currently at $218.00 per person, and July is at $332.00 per person. This is their round trip cost. Their rates do increase over holidays las do most other airlines. I hope this helps you out.

Caribbean airfare, like elsewhere, fluctuates wildly.

We just booked flights from Reagan airport to Grand Cayman on Spirit Airlines at the cost of $440.00 pp. These airfares are for late June.

We also have to factor in $5.00 per checked bag, each way. Many airlines have started this, so don't forget to read the fine print, before you book.
