Earlier today, I cancelled a reservation for November in Williamsburg because
we decided to go earlier. In the past, I've always been able to rebook immediately, even though the points aren't showing up online yet. I've tried several times today and the site is still telling me I don't have any points.
Has something changed that I missed ? Or is this a system glitch ?

Never mind...just figured it out...my use year starts 10/1 and I was changing
use years on the reservation. So I think the cancelled points must have gone back to a different use year. Or at least I think that's it !

If your reservation was for November and your UY starts October 1st, the cancelled points would be good for reservations between 10/1/14 and 9/30/15.

Are you trying to book a date in August or September?

Yes, I was trying to book the last weekend in August. When I tried to make the reservation, it said I would have to borrow points from the next year. Does that sound right ? I'm still a bit confused......

Yes, you can borrow points from the next use year for any bookings inside of 90 days. This is a no-cost feature of your ownership.

It will borrow from next year, where your cancelled points returned to. I believe the system will borrow regular points first though, leaving you with cancelled points in the UY. You should be able to call and do the booking on the phone though, and ask them to use the cancelled points instead for the borrowed.
