Can a converted fixed week revert back to a fixed week?

I am contemplating the purchase of a Wyndham fixed week that was converted to points? Is it possible to get this changed back to just the fixed week? How would that be accomplished?

Yes, it can be done.

Basicly, it has NOTHING to do with the deed - just dropping it out of the CLUB WYNDHAM PLUS system. Call Wyndham and ask ...

Why would you want to do that? You are able to reserve the underlying week during the 10-13 month ARP window anyway, so I don't see any advantage to letting it revert on purpose (okay maybe save a small amount on CWP fees, but that's about it).

Keep in mind that your ARP is still for the underlying fixed week if desired, and you also have the freedom the points bring. If you change your mind later and want back in to the points, it will cost you $2395 to do so.

I have 6 converted fixed weeks - that is $495.56 per year in CWP fees.

Now, 2 of those weeks are usable for me as FIXED weeks - but they are the same week at the same resort. And the ratio $4.68MF per 1K in points -- low -- so I will keep them yearly in points to use. With inclusive costs of under $5 per 1K of points --- I will use the points.

The other 2 have lousy ratios - $6.99MF per 1K in points - but one week can be rented, but the other is a DOG. But if in points I can sell them as a "bundle" as they are back to back weeks in the same size unit (week 51 & 52) ... more potential buyers in points.

The other 2, I regularly moan that I should just drop them out of points and save $160 yearly CWP fee.

You have to figure what is to your advantage...

The underlying weeks all had the same maintenance fee per unit size regardless of season. Because this is a summer week, it converted to more points and the maintenance for the points is about $200/year (including CWP fee) more than the maintenance for the fixed week. Since I plan to use the week or rent it, having it in points is just an extra cost, not to mention the guest certificate required if someone else uses it.

I have considered doing this also.
But I think for future resale the points conversion makes it more valuable. if you dont rent it in the summer you can easily use the points at another wyndham with no additional fees. Also if you aren't VIP you will lose 2 (or more) reservation transactions which is a $78 value and also some housekeeping credits.

I guess that is a good enough reason. I guess if you have to have that one week that the points are based on, you could let it revert, but if any week in that season will do, it might be cheaper to get a non-converted fixed week.
