Has anyone had a PIC contract that Wyndham has said is NO longer qualified as a PIC and has pulled it?

Just curious

According to the handbook, as long as the resort stays in RCI it is eligible for PIC.

Somewhere, several months back, I did read where someone had lost their PIC for that very reason.

The wording in the book is more explicit than that. It has to stay in RCI and NOT participate in a points program, including RCI Points.

So is that your unit or is it the resort that can't participate RCI Points? Does that include other points programs like Starwood, Hilton, etc?

We had one of our resorts through RCI enrolled in the PIC program for a couple of years but dropped it because we never did deposit the week to use as Wyndham points. All of our RCI weeks are points ownership although there is an actual deeded week associated with the points. When I inquired about the procedure for depositing the week the information Wyndham sent me said I had to reserve "my week" at the start of my RCI use year and deposit it at that time.

I don't want to get the points, but I don't want to remove the PICs because I use them for status.

The only reason we pulled ours out was because the resort got sold to a developer and was no longer eligible to be in the PIC program.

But you do realize that you are paying a yearly program fee to be enrolled in the PIC program and not be using it? No judgement on my part as we did the same thing.

Yes, but paying the fee gives me Platinum status, not a bad trade for the additional price.

A few in S and VA, a single resort in NC, MD, PA, and UT, plus Jamaica and the Bahamas
There are several owners on TUG who have reported that they own at RCI points resorts (but their weeks are not enrolled in points) and use those weeks through PIC. It has also been reported that sales will threaten that if a resort is or becomes a points resort that it will be un enrolled as a threat to buy more developer points. Wyndham has always interpreted that rule to mean the actual deeded week can't be enrolled in any points program- be in Bluegreen, Hilton, Starwood, Worldmark etc. The week in question has to be eligible to exchange through RCI weeks with an actual deposited week and not enrolled in any internal points system or rci points.

The rule is written ambiguously enough that Wyndham could at some point change that interpretation but I don't know if that possibility should be enough of a reason to change your plans.
