Can we lock off a two bedroom through Interval at check in at Marriott Aruba Surf?

My husband and I have a two bedroom through an exchange from Interval International and we would like to take another couple with us, but we don't know them very well and we would like to have our privacy. Does anyone know if we can lock off the unit at check in, so that the other couple gets separate keys, separate billing, etc? They would use the studio side. We have done this before with Royal Resorts in Cancun. I know the units are lock offs, but would they let us do a lock off if we are not the owners but we get the unit through Interval? Thanks everyone for help.

We were able to do it in Jan but we are owners. I don't think it will be a problem. However, the room keys would work both doors so you may want to ask about different keys.

Thanks hopefully it will work. At Royal Resorts they let you do that even if you are not an owner, but an Interval exchange member - they give you separate keys, separate accounts for billing, even the phone lines "ring" separately for each side of the unit.

I know that physically locking off the unit is easy, as long as you were assigned a 2BR unit and not one of the few 2BR sides of a 3BR. Separate accounts/billing and phones are not an issue and I would assume you could just ask for the key cards to be separate for each side. You could always e-mail the concierge or the front desk there to be sure.

Thanks for that information. I just made two exchanges into the Surf Club for weeks 48 and 49. Both are for 2 BR units and have a unit number code of HZZAD. It is probably way too early to contact the front desk to determine if these are 2BR units and not one of the 2BR sides of a 3BR, but is there any other way of finding this out, such as the unit code? I was surprised to get these exchanges since I thought most owners would split their 2BR units. I never considered splitting 3BR units.
