I couldn't find an answer to this in either the sticky's or doing a search. I am selling my Hilton ts, and had 3 questions:
1. What happens to my HGVC reservation that is for a time period after the sale?
2. What happens to my RCI reservation that is for a time period after the sale?
3. What happens to my RCI points left in my RCI account after I sell?

This was the only HGVC property I own, so I assume this is a moot point if you still are left with at least one property.

So here are the answers received direct from HGVC
1. HGVC reservation is valid and stays in my name
2. RCI reservation is valid and stays in my name
3. RCI account is terminated upon sale and any points in account are lost

I hope this answers some questions for others in the same situation.
Maybe should be a sticky??

I Dont agree, when I bought my TS, the current user had made a reservation, and that reservation transfered to me.
2. RCI reservation is valid and stays in my name
I would says as long as you keep you RCI account you should be fine, but if your account is terminated, then your reservation is no good.

3. RCI account is terminated upon sale and any points in account are lost
I agree.

I agree.

Hilton clearly stated any reservations would remain in my name, not the new owner.
On RCI, both HGVC and RCI have confirmed I cannot keep my existing RCI account, or transfer points to a new one. It is closed, points lost, but existing reservations are still valid (but cannot be changed).

So I think you are incorrect on both points

Pretty clear....

Dear Mr. xxxxxxx,

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately your RCI membership that stems from your HGV account is 100% associated with that ownership. Therefore if the HGV account closes, so does the RCI account. Points are non-transferable to other accounts. You may want to make reservations with those points before your sale goes through. Once the reservations are made, they will not be cancelled, however you will not be able to change them, reschedule, etc. once the accounts are closed.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you for being a valued Hilton Grand Vacations member and choosing RCI.

Best Regards,

Maybe this was a special term of your purchase agreement??

Reservations are negotiated in the contract, so they can go either way, depending on what the buyer and seller agree on.

I would guess so, as when I sold my Developer to Hilton, I got to keep existing reservations, nothing got transferred. I don't recall having to "negotiate" that with Hilton/resale. It was just done.
