I have had a one plus one on a on going search for some time. When they set up the search for me they collected $189 exchange fee. I called in today to check on the search. There in nothing available. The VC also checked other areas and said my one plus one week would not pull anything. I am trying to go in Oct. To Tenn., NC, or Georgia. The VC said my only chance was to pay the additional cost to get an extra vacation. I can get an extra vacation with out a one plus one. Marge, my question is ---is a one plus one worth anything??? How am I supposed to use my one plus one if it wont pull anything ??? Thanks, Longdriver

Longdriver, I would think that Tennesse and surrounding target areas would not be a big problem in October. I would keep calling and hopefully a guide will be able to help you.

I disagree

I think October is prime leaf season in Tennessee and would be booked solid. Gatlinburg in particular. NC also. Georgia, I don't know, but I think there are less timeshares there, making it harder.

Keep trying!!

Geekette is exactly right. October is the hardest time of year to get into the Smokies area. Even harder than summertime because of the leaf peepers. If you can find ANYTHING, including a reasonable hotel room, better grab it!

Sorry, I didn't realize that it would be so difficult. I was basing my opinion on the fact that DH and several friends golfed for a few years in Tennessee. I never had a problem exchanging during October. Guess I was just lucky!

Dori,

You've received good advice here. Ongoing searches are less effective for One-Plus-One weeks because the space is surplus and is known pretty far in advance. It is unlikely to change much until very close to the requested travel dates.

If you haven't already, you may wish to check the Ask RCI FAQ's. This provides a list of the available target areas offered in One-Plus-One.
