Starwood/Vistana has an agreement with Delta Airlines, whom for all practical purposes owns the Minneapolis Airport. Delta changed ticket prices to reflect a non-assigned seat Unless you pay about $100.00 more to get a seat assignment. That is new for us and seems to radically devalue the agreement we know Vistana had with Delta. Previously we received same privileges s our Silver frequent flyer program provided.

We used to fly a lot and benefited from loyalty and were upgraded 50% of the time. A Starwood owner update walked us through steps about 5 years ago to showing us how much we overspent for being loyal.

Is this just a Delta change or industry wide and of so what airlines are better.

Scott - This is an SPG STARWOOD HOTEL benefit - not Vistana.

Vistana and Starwood are now owned by separate companies and are separate entities:

Vistana = timeshare management branch (owned by International Leisure Group)

SPG = hotel management branch (owned by Marriott)

Thanks Denise

I am really bumfuzzled by this and think I need to go to an owner update.

In the past I looked at everything as a single entity

Now I am discovering the nuances and subtilties of the practical matters

Thank You Denise

You are the North Star on my Vistana compass

P.S> I hate change and everything Starwood/Vistana does seems bent on informing us of changes Ah the good old days when I loved the newest and greatest horse and buggy carriage Things worked better and simpler in my world

Keep in mind that info from the owner "update" may not necessarily be accurate in the best interests of the owner. Sales people have a job to sell you something...

Thank You

Several presenters have informed us they feel obligated to spend half their time answering our questions and merely feel we should provide them the last half to present us with an opportunity to sell us inventory. I think that is more than fair as after all they earn their living by selling

I think it is honest they help us and we respectfully listen to them

However Denise educated me that valuations have dropped so far the relationship and owner update quid pro quo relationship cannot be maintained. Perhaps 55 minutes and provide them 5 minutes is more in order
