I had been paying over $1250 in MF for my Mauna Loa Village, EOY, t/s week and it was killing me. You can rent for less than that. It was a floating week and never converted to points.

While vacationing in HI I attended a small Wyndham board meeting in Kona and found out that they would let me deed back my week and at no cost to me. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. :) Process took about 2 months and they do insist that your MF be current. They do reserve the right to say "no" but they accepted my week. Thank you Wyndham. I'm guessing they will put it in a rental program or resell it.

Wow! Nice of them, and congrats to you! I used to own MLV, and gave it away via Tug to a nice lady from New Jersey who owned one week and wanted another. Her logic was that if she was traveling all that way, why not stay awhile? Can't blame her. Nice place, and perfectly located, to my mind.

Do a search on the Wyndham program called "Ovations". It has been popular and easy way to downsize or close out many people's ownership with Wyndham.

Glad it went as you wanted. A relief to many owners.

They offered to only take one of three of mine. I chose to decline the Ovation and give all three away to a friend plus help $500 with closing costs.

Deedback

I called the Ovation number yesterday and spoke with a friendly representative who quickly acknowledged they would take back my high maintenance ($600 plus) sleeps 2 studio at Fairfield Glade. They would e-mail me the paperwork, I would have it notorized and returned. Burdensome ownership gone. The Ovations number is 855-312-9040.

I've got a few small UDI contracts at Edisto (Ocean Ridge) that I don't really need.

I called last week and they said they would take them, as long as I have enough points in my account to cover all my reservations this year (I do as I have a lot of points/contracts)

Anyway, they said they would send the documents to me via email, but I haven't received anything yet. They said I can print the docs, sign, get notarized and send the originals (on paper and signed) back via snail mail

It took about 10 business days for my docs to arrive via e-mail.

I gave mine back last month!!! It took about 10 days to get the email from Wyndham. I still have not received he official cancelation, but I can no longer sign on to the account. I called and they said the account was no longer active.

I bought it resale for $500 and enjoyed two great vacations but due to my other timeshares, this one had to go.

Very satisfied, but no longer needed.

so, I called Wyndham about a month ago (late Jan) to see if they'd take back three small contracts. Wyndham sent me the transfer paperwork. I signed, had notarized and returned the paperwork mid Feb. The three contracts, that I wanted to give back, are now gone from my account.

They were small UDI contracts that I didn't want. They didn't provide any ARP that I wanted and I felt the Maint fees were too high to keep for generic use. I still have plenty of points.

Have you called Owner Care about them? Then call again ... Wyndham just loves FREE stuff ... after all they are in the timeshare mentality warp ... aren't they?
