For the timeshare that I am wanting to buy a company that handles transfers that was recommended to me on this forum stated that silverleaf will not allow them to handle the transfer. I am in the process of a "potential" buy but to help facilitate everything to where everything can be done via mail I think it may be a good idea to enlist a brokerage firm to handle the transaction.

Any thoughts on this if this is a good idea then if anyone has recommendations I am open to them.

I've never heard of such a thing. Brokerage firms buy and sell timeshares, but they don't handle the title transfer itself. What exactly is it that you hope the brokerage firm will do for you?

Timeshares are typically bought and sold electronically these days - except for maybe getting a hard copy of the deed, there is little or no mailing involved.

Silverleaf requires you to use them for the transfer I guess you would be using a broker as a go between for your transfer. Silverleaf will send the owner a packet who is trying to do the resell of their owned timeshare.

Maybe Silverleaf wants to do it themselves. Why not call and ask them? Who knows, the cost might be competative?

Word of advice. When you call don't give them details of the Week or the Individual you are buying from until you find out what their deal is. If you give them info, they may contact the Seller and screw up your deal.

But a broker won't handle the actual transfer, so I'm not sure what you want them to do for you. Honestly, if you are not ready to do this, you should back off, and do some more research.

If you want to use a broker, find a broker who has a Silverleaf timeshare for sale.
