I'm new to II, a member with RCI for a while. I have a studio, even year, 52 week float I'd like to try and exchange online with II.

Never using the site before, and just pondering where/when to travel as it's up in the air, I'm just looking at the moment, but would like to make reservations if I see something suitable.

What I'm wondering is, with the flex week and no specific dates, the II site always wants me to input a specific week on the "planning" page under the "Exchange" tabe before moving on to look at specific availability. I don't have a specific week to exchange since it's a float week I'd be depositing that isn't a specific week, but could be any of the 52 weeks of the year.

Do I just enter the week I want to make reservations for, or just pick a week out of the air? The site lists my week as "FLOAT", the provides me with a calendar dropdown to pick a date from. Why not just pick the busiest week of the year from my home resort for best trade impact?

Thanks much for any advice as once I get through this once, or at least get this answered, I should be pretty good with most everything else. I've looked on their site and don't really see an answer to this, and had a browse at other forums here....I'm sure the answer is already here somewhere and even checked the II FAQs, but don't see it.

Thanks again!

Most resorts allow you to choose the week that you want to reserve (based upon availability of course), then you request to deposit your week with II.

Reserving a week with the strongest trade value is the correct approach.

With my float week resorts I search by taking a random week out of thin air. If they ask for a confirmation number just punch in 123456. When your ready to deposit call your resort and book a week and have them deposit it in your II account.

Thanks much. I kinda figured to just pick a date, and I'll gove the resort a call to see about depositing a specific week.

Thanks again!:D

Michael - just a little tip on terms - with II, a "Flex week" is a last minute deposit with limited trading rights.

In II terms, your week is a "floating week." If you call it a "flex week" it may be confusing to the folks at II, who may think your are going to make a last minute deposit.
