My wife and I have an exchange into the Maui Schooner this November (not Thanksgiving week). We have never been to this resort. Can anyone tell me what the views are like and what view we can likely expect to get as an exchanger?

I don't know how much this helps but here's a resort map. We were there the week
After Thanksgiving last year. We went in on an exchange but I bought an every
Other year week before I confirmed and I mentioned I was a new owner. I got
Really lucky and there was a unit available on the top floor in the ocean front A
Building. It was great. I would think you'd be in the B building. If you get a
Choice you may be able to get an ocean view with a unit close to the pool and
On one of the upper floors.

I was only there for a week so some other longer term owners will probably
Chime in with more information.

Thanks. The resort map is helpful.

There are 20 2BR units in B building and 14 2 BR units in A building. We have 3 days that you can check in and the room are fairly evenly divided for the 3 different days.
Some owners like the B building for afternoon shade on the lanai.
So it will be a toss up which building you will be be assigned.
Enjoy your stay.

We stayed in the B building unit 101 last year and liked it very much.

We will be there this Saturday. As exchangers, we expect a B unit. In a conversation with a member of the staff, she confirmed they take care of owners first. So, any owner who wants A building will get it.

However, barefootnAR suggests some owners might bounce exchangers out of the B building, forcing them into the A building with the great Ocean view.

I'll try to post what happens to us sometime soon after our arrival. Whatever happens, we'll be glad to be on Maui for the week.

Are there any really bad views we should try to avoid if possible? As an exchanger, we don't expect top priority by any means.

We stayed in unit B305. We had a pretty nice view. The attachment is a zoom view from the balcony taken with my phone.
