Just received notice that RCI cancelled my Patriots Place Williamsburg reservation on 8/26 becasue of an inventory problem. They have now offered me (and I had to take) a 1 BR Kingsgate. Thsi has a mini-kitchen rather than a full and there is a $4 per day "activity fee" that is mandatory. As we do not even use the pool here and spend the entire time at Busch Gardens, Water COuntry or Colonial Wmsbrg, is there anyway to avoid the fee.

I am pretty angry about this and feel I have been ripped off. I had already given up my 2BR ski week for a 1 BR deluxe and now I have been downgraded to this.

What are my options?

Joan

You need to call RCI and complain to a supervisor. Unfortunately there have been several posts recently about RCI cancelling exchanges.

You don't have to accept it ... but since it is so close, you may have to if RCI cannot come up with alternative accomodations. Catch 22...

At the *very* least, RCI should be reimbursing you for the $4 daily mandatory fee imposed by the resort. They have done that for us when a resort imposed a new mandatory fee for exchangers when we confirmed before the fee was imposed. (Not for Manhattan Club, we had to go through our credit card company to get that daily hospitality fee reimbursed...)
