I was a recent victim of fraud from timeshareliquidators. And I am hopeing to prevent others from being victims. I payed useing paypal and a few days before the dispute time frame was up with paypal I called the seller to check on my timeshare, and of course I got some very good reasons why my timeshare was going to be delayed. So of course I didn't think I had a reason to worry especially since their feedback on Ebay was at 99% with well over 100 items sold. So here is what I propose we all do I propose that we all contact paypal to change their timeframe window to 90 days. As with most of us the paperwork takes 6-8 weeks and some of the times longer. If we all contact paypal and we all have friends with paypal accounts contact paypal they may rethink their position.

120 days minimum

Anything less than 120 days is not helpful for timeshare sales. Funtime

It is highly unlikely that you will be able to persuade Paypal to change their policies even with the efforts of all your friends and their friends.

What you can do (next time) is to pay with a credit card. Most (if not all) credit cards have a 6 month timeframe in which you can dispute a charge. This works even if paying through Paypal with a credit card. You will not be able to dispute through Paypal, but you can dispute it directly with your credit card.

Paypal has a VERY crappy dispute procedure compared to credit cards. They don't immediately credit your account, and they make you jump through more hoops over a more extended period. Then, even if they confirm that you have been cheated, they may say they have not gotten the money back from the seller, and therefore not credit you. They may even take out a $25 fee for getting your money back, which makes the whole process nearly worthless on small purchases. That $25 fee, if imposed, can IMHO make Paypal as big a thief as a dishonest seller.

I'll use credit cards directly, thank you!

Paypal worked just fine for me

I was also a victim of timeshareliquidators. Fortunately for me, I submitted my dispute early, and received my credit card payment back 5 hours later.:whoopie: Their efforts even surprised me! Not sure if "James" refunded the payment, or whether paypal took it from his paypal account balance. They just said "case closed".....
