Hi all,

We can't seem to find this information online. Can someone who has been to the Grand Mayan Riviera Maya recently confirm if there is a lazy river or wave pool? I could have sworn I read that there was one somewhere.....

Thanks!

waterparks at different resorts

Are they planning on building a lazy river and water park in Riviera Maya???

What do they have in Acapulco???? I thought they hada waterpark. Do they have a big slide like the one in Nuevo Vallarta???

The one in Nuevo Vallara is fabulous. it is perfect for kids 5 and under. The big slide is fun for allages (adults included) The wave pools are fun and the lazy river is relaxing. however, the lazy river is showing wear and tear andd imo needs to be replastered:)

lazy river -- postponed or cancelled

Yes, per the prior questions my understanding was that originally there was suppose to be a lazy river constructed. Has that been permanently cancelled or just postponed? If that is permanently cancelled what construction is ongoing/remains?

lovemy....No Aca does not have a large water slide or lazy river. There is a small water park, fun for small kids and very nice pools. It is not a Huge resort but awesom and absolutly beautiful. The Sea Garden restaurant (just a trolly ride away) has very good food, service and much more reasonable than the others. Rent a 4-wheeler from the guys on the beach and go left (when facing the water) it is a fabulous ride.....3-4 hours or more if you have the time. It is truly one of the best beaches in the area IMO.

Acapulco has a small waterpark for kids, but does have a lazy river. I have floated it many times.

Yes used it last summer when I upgraded to GM. MP members can use it for a small fee. The tubes were free, not like NV where you pay $3.00 for a days rental.

I just returned from 2 weeks in PV. We spent a day at the GM in NV. I was pleased that they had tubes for the lazy river & water park available for 2 hours at no charge. You checked them out at the "tube hut".

In the mail I picked up yesterday, there was a Mayan Palace booklet. It says that they are building new MP facilities on the golf course 400 yards from the existing MP in Acapulco and when this building is finished, they will tear the current MP 15 year old buildings down and rebuild newer, 50% larger units in the space. By looking at the projected rendering photo, they are also going to tear out the pool and rebuild a newer one that is more like NV and Cancun. The booklet also said that the GM Super Pool & pool bar will open July 2007 in Cancun. By October 2007, there will be a facility center with a partially covered swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
