Madge,

I had an ongoing search from this past summer that recently matched. I paid $149 to initiate the search (before rates increased) and when I matched online, it looks like RCI now wants me to make up the difference between what was paid to initiate the search and today's exchange fee of $164.

"Exchange Fee $164.00
Your Current Balance $149.00
Balance Due RCI $15.00
A new fee must be posted for every transaction initiated online. If you have an account balance that is not currently being applied toward an ongoing search, you may request that those fees be refunded. Request a Refund"

This was not my experience in the past when rates went up and I had already initiated a search and "locked-in" the old rate. When did this change?

TravelSFO,

It is still our policy to grandfather rates as long as your search was started before the increase. This may not be something that our website recognizes.

Please send an e-mail to feedback@rci.com with TUG in the subject line. The Communications Team can check to be sure that your search was not interrupted and that you receive the correct rate.
