I am wondering if others know more about this topic.
Here is my understanding about how request first works -
I have a request first for specific resort, minimum room spec and dates. II calls periodically and offers partial match alternatives, such as a different nearby resort. When the auto dialing system tries to reach me, my request first is put on hold with a partial match. After I speak to an agent to decline the alternative or enough time has passed, my request first hold is removed and searching for matches continues. During this time period between a partial match and refusing it, the system is not trying to find me my exact match.
Is this true? Could I be missing a perfect request first match between the time II tries to call me to settle for something else and me calling back to say no. This is how it has been explained to me by an agent in the past. Nowadays, I call this same agent to help me quickly remove these partial matches when they occur. I check my caller id, so I know when II calls and does not leave me a message.
