I am new to TUG. So glad it is here to help. Thank you! Against my advisement, my mother bought a TS, and she is now unable to even leave her home. I need to get her out of these costly yearly MF fees! I have had to back burner it for a long while now, but today she got a call from that Wesley Financial Group. She gave them my number, & it first it sounded like a legit deal. However, I told the rep to call me back in an hour, and in the meantime I had a chance to research them. Apparently, they too are one of those scams. Ugh!!! I wish my mom had listened to me! Now I'm stuck trying to figure this out.
By the way, if you guys haven't seen this Reuters' article which speaks very well of TUG, please have a look. Hope the link works.

Welcome to TUG!
Is the timeshare paid in full? Are the maintenance fees up to date?
If yes to both questions, your best option might be to give it away. You can list it on the Bargain Deals section for free. Depending on the timeshare you might need to offer to pay the closing costs & other fees.
There are a few timeshares that are worth something, but only the name brands (Westin, Marriott, etc.) in popular locations (Hawaii, ski weeks, summer beach weeks, etc.)
Good luck!

Thanks LAX Mom!
Yeah Mom is all current on fees & paid in full. It is a Wyndham contract, and it appears to have more points than most of what I am seeing on this site and Ebay. This stuff is all new to me, but I will always do the research before I make a decision for her. She is suffering from dementia, so this all the more upsetting. Again, thank you for your help!!!

I don't know anything about Wyndham, but Ron does and he'll have some good advice for you!
Sorry about your mother. It sounds like a tough time for you & your family.
