Hello Tuggers,
I just recently had an RCI points timeshare transferred over to my RCI points account.
The time share is only supposed to give 24500 points annually, but RCI has it as giving double, 49k points.
They were supposed to credit my account with just 24500 points for this year, and they credited me 49000.
Anyone ever have a similar situation?
I looked at the deed, and the Estoppel.
I am positive I'm only supposed to get 24500 points a year, not 49k.
Suggestions, comments?

Call RCI and ask. Perhaps you are seeing this year's allotment AND points available for 2016?

DON'T call them!
If you do and they find they made a mistake, they'll take them back. Just wait and see how many they deposit next year.
As long as your maintenance fees are correct, why rock the boat? I comment from personal experience. Sometimes they make a mistake in your favor and don't catch it (ever).

I agree, RCI makes many mistakes that are not in my favor. Even if you try to fix this they have a hard time adjusting things.

The same thing happened to me when I bought my first timeshare. It was supposed to come with 98000 points and I got 196000. The reason was the previous owner had not used the previous years points and they had rolled over into the next year. Perhaps that is what happened in your case.

If I knew I was only supposed to get 24,500 points, but 45,000 points showed up in my RCI account, I would not assume it was a "gift" from RCI - and I sure wouldn't use them. (Just like I didn't keep/spend a $70K deposit that was put into my bank account through a computer error - but boy, was I surprised to see that month's statement!)

There are many explanations for extra points. One timeshare I owned gave me double points if I paid MF's early. Another timeshare lists available points that include next year's allotment. I can internally bank weeks in another resort, but if I don't use it the following year, it moves over to RCI to extend usage for two more years. So, if the extra 24,500 points are yours to spend, great! Enjoy!

Thanks for your comments. This is the situation. I called RCI to ask how many points I'm supposed to get annually from this timeshare. They said 49k. The website shows 49k, while it should show only 24.5k points.
It's not points from previous years. Future 2016 point are equally showing 49k available to be borrowed a long as I pay my 2016 membership fees.
It's weird, and I do agree that it's hit-or-miss with RCI reps.
I agree that if a bank put extra $$ in your account you should report it.

But I wonder if anyone happen to come across a similar situation and what the outcome was.

Do you own the EOY grandview? Generally EOY units give you the full points EOY, where as triennial give you 1/3 of the points annually.

You are correct, I own an EOY GV LV, I was getting the points every year, but the error got caught and corrected it.
