Yes, but generally during the fall Hurricane season (which is silver @ Ocean Pointe).

Yep, I saw a few last year from August through October, but always very close to the check in date (0-59 days).
About a month ago for the end of May.

I can't be certain. None of the above three posts of sightings are platinum weeks. They are all Gold. I look for Oceana often. Most of the instant inventory is from Bulk deposits and it's usually May, Sep, and Oct. Oceana is heavy in the trust.
I have gotten Sep and the third week of May on non-M exchanges. I wouldn't count on Platinum instant especially with any kind of notice.

Pltinum (late april) shows up occasionally
I have seen April weeks show up before. Exchanged once for an April week with my own Oceana Palms deposit (Gold) summer week.
However usually what I have seen is May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sept and Oct.
Do a search of the Sightings and you'll see what has been reported historically. (April, Nov and Dec) have been seen before.

I never really try for instant exchanges. A couple years ago I had on ongoing request for several resorts for Thanksgiving week - requested about 13 months out. Being an impatient person, after about 2 months, I added Oceana Palms and it matched overnight. If I'd checked, it may well have been available on an instant exchange
When Oceana first opened I got a winter week with a Manor Club 1 bedroom. I have friends who got a winter week with a Grande Vista studio. My trade was so long ago I don't remember if it was an instant exchange.
Past exchanges are just that. . . doesn't mean it will or won't happen for you. An II rep told me they can't give what they don't have. It will only happen if II has the inventory that isn't computer matched to an ongoing request.

I put in an exchange request for Oceana Palms with II in May, for April 16-23, 2016. I am trading a Platinum Grande Vista. It's only been 2 months but II has called us twice to see if we want to look for anything else. Makes me nervous we won't get it. I'm wondering how long to hold out for this location. We have to go that week b/c it's school break, and we'd really like to stay there - but I wouldn't want to get locked out of getting a good exchange somewhere else. How long should I hold out?

I've exchanged into Oceana Palms twice over the past several years after putting it on my request list. We were there first week of June and had a fantastic time. So much so, I will probably request it again in another year or two.
