Just bought another resale to add to my portfolio and HGVC are charging me 250USD to "add to my inventory"
Is this a new charge or am I being suckered by those Orlando based thieves :)
I cant see this charge in the 2010 members guide...

There's a transfer fee, which is $299. Is that what this is?

No, this is a charge to quote HGVC Orlando

" If the member already owns at HGVC and they purchase another week, it is considered as Additional Inventory (Add-On) and charged $250. There is no club due to charge as they have paid or should be paying on the other lead/contract "

This smacks of profiteering to me, anyone else aware of this charge please?

Sounds like you are paying $250 instead of $299 as an existing owner.

It is $399 to join the club if you are not already a member and $250 to add another unit

I suspect that the OP purchased an additional unit direct from HGVC or one of its affiliates, so it may not be the $299 transfer fee or $399 account-activation fee.

There is no mention of a $250 add-to-inventory fee mentioned in the Members Guide, so I can understand why the OP is mystified. However, I suspect that there's an obscure reference to it, either in the sales contract or the condo-declarations.

I would urge the OP not to get his nose too far out of joint over this, as these sorts of nuisance fees are ubiquitus in acquisitions and in the long-run wil seem like small potatoes.
-----------------
Added: If it is a resale purchase from a 3rd-party, then he should have been charged the $299 transfer fee and is catching a break.

Thanks, it just bugs me when charges are levied that dont appear until last minute....my nose isn't out of joint over it as I've got a great deal on the resale purchase :)

We added Bay Club over the last three years. The first and second year there was no $250 fee and then this year they added a "contract" processing fee. I asked them about it and they said it was new. They had also changed the form which now includes the fee.
