If you buy a timeshare at a high price location but want more points without paying the high price along with the higher maintenance, can you purchase a less expensive location with the number of points you need and combine them to be used at the home location?

Absolutely. HGVC bookings are based on club points in your account. They don't care what they are tied to.

Yes, But you can't use those points to book during home week. Be sure to book high interest places right on the first day of the club booking window. It works.:D

True. For those not familiar with HGVC, home week is where you can book up to twelve months in advance of your stay. You must book your exact sized unit and season which you own to qualify for this advantage.

Any variation in the unit type, size or season, or any other location is booked with club points up to 9 months out.

For Hilton Club you have to buy Hilton Club points. However, you can buy these resale which is much cheaper than buying direct from Hilton. Once you own them there is no material difference between these points and those bought directly from Hilton.
