Can someone explain to me the relationship between Shell vacation club and Bluegreen?

I have heard rumors but have no clue what the deal is, and how it works.

thanks -Mary

Basically, this is a system that allows owners to use thier points to trade into the other companies resorts. This is called Select Connections. Shell has resorts on the west coast and HI, and Blue has resorts in FL and the east side of the US.

If you're a BG owner how do you find resorts in the Shell program and how do you go about reserving them?

Can you use your BG points to get something in the Shell program? Do you have to be a certain level member to trade into it.

You have to make a purchase from Bluegreen or a Bluegreen authorized reseller after July 1, 2006 to qualify. In addition, you must be a member of Traveler Plus.

As long as you meet those two qualifications, you can book reservations via Select Connections.

There are 18 Shell Vacation Club resorts that Bluegreen Owners can book. The can book anywhere from 2-nights depending on the reservation window.

Bluegreen owners can book any of these resorts for a full week from 8 months in advance of checkin. For partial weeks, it's 3 months.

There is a $49 booking fee if you are a standard owner. $29 if you are Silver. $19 if you are Gold preferred.

From the Shell side you can book into Bluegreen accomodations, fees are similar I think, to Boca's comments. The Select Connections program is considered to be part of the Shell Lifestyles program. Shell owners who purchased resale are not allowed any use of Shell Lifestyles or Shell Elite programs, according to documents you sign when Shell points are transferred. Don't know how older Shell weeks owners are impacted.
