HGVC 2006 points to use

I'm buying a HGVC with 4800 points avaliable for 2006.

The process is fairly slow and it will be close.. if its closed by Dec 31st

The seller will make reservations for me, but there isn;t much left for 06.

If I have the seller put the points into RCI for a search for 2008, will that RCI credit and search be transfered to my account?

any thoughts of what to do with the points? Or how I can keep use of them , when it transfers?
