I have to pay those for 2017 from the proceeds of sale, and they are taking $911.77 for estimated fees, meaning they are expecting Custom House to be $1823.54.

Glad I am getting rid of the weeks we own! Sorry to all Custom House owners. That is really bad news, I know.

If the fees are less, will they give me a refund? Doubt it. They should give me a refund.

What the heck? Is the building falling down or something? We have paid outrageous fees for Custom House, and I am so GLAD it is coming to an end.

Can I ask where you sold it? What did you get for it?

I sold it through the Marriott's own resale department. Hardly got anything for it. After these fees, about $1,400 is all.

Despite the current Custom House maintenance fees, we still enjoy going every October. We picked it up on the resale market a few years back and still could not rent the week for what the maintenance fees are.

Try renting a Custom House suite through Marriott --Expensive!

Indeed, the daily rate for non-owners is very high--even if you were an original retail buyer at full price, you are now ahead of the "rent vs own" calculation. I suspect the value of CH will increase given the new Pulse branding. Older travelers want chic urban destinations. The renovation of CH is done and location couldn't be better. Still a good value even with high mf's.

I agree. I've been successful renting 5 night stays for MF or very close so we end up with 2 summer nights for free or less than $100. Can beat the quality and location of the CH.

Where are you placing your ads for rent? I've used Redweek with no success.

For some perspective on the Custom House maintenance fees, an article in the Boston Globe this week claimed that Boston has some of the highest hotel room rates in the country and that it is nearly impossible to get a room within a decent radius of the city in August for less than $300 per night.
