Thanks!

$250 + Closing Costs & Fees.

Do you know what the transfer costs would be?
Resort transfer fee (payable to Grandview) is $250.

That's on top of deed preparation & recording, which are separate.

Also, RCI fees (membership, exchanges) are additional.

Full Disclosure: We recently purchased an eBay 1BR Grandview triennial points unit. It came with free closing & free resort transfer. So far, so good.

Just to add, Week 41 is within the most prime season at Grandview, which includes weeks 38-45 and 52.

I just want to add that this is where we stay when we visit LV. It is a nice resort for families, and it is only steps from the Southpoint Casino that has many dining and entertainment activities for the whole family.

It's a nice area if you don't want to be in the middle of the strip congestion and you want a more family atmosphere.

RCI points question

Wondering about the RCI points for this one. I thought Week 41 in Grandview at Las Vegas (every other year) would be 30,500 every year or 61,000 every other year? What am I missing?

RCI points chart
Week 2 bedroom . 1 bedroom
38-45 122,000 .... 61,000

RCI has TWO points systems:

1) Traditional points.

2) TPU or Trading Power units.

This deed is in the TPU system:

Receives 18-21 RCI TPUs plus 1 resort certificate (use for last minute exchanges)

You have to pay a high fee to enroll it in points. If you want points, you should buy a TS that is already enrolled in points.

What about the weeks-for-points thing? Or does that option not apply here?

I'm just getting into the whole Points thing and had thought I could do some occasional deposits of my weeks at some point...

Thanks!

RCI has two separate exchange systems:

Original Points system - costs $2K+ to join

Newer TPU system (trading power units) - costs about $130 to join

They are separate programs, with different exchange inventory.

Not Even Platinum Membership Is $2K+

RCI Original Points system - costs $2K+ to join.
I would not pay that much to buy a timeshare, much less to join a timeshare-exchange organization.

The price of our foray into RCI Points was lots less than $2,000 -- more like $1,000, & that included the price of the (resale) timeshare, plus closing, etc., in addition to the cost of a new RCI Points membership (even though we already belonged to RCI Weeks).

For RCI Points membership, the current annual fee is something like $124.

Cost of adding another points timeshare to your existing RCI Points account is $98.

Cost of RCI Points timeshare deed is extra. Ditto maintenance fees for RCI Points timeshare.

One fringe benefit of membership in RCI Points is that a side-by-side membership in RCI Weeks comes with it at no added charge -- meaning Weeks members who join Points can get refunds if they paid ahead on their Weeks membership.
