Anyone have experience/success requesting and exchanging into an event week?

I was thinking about trying to go away next NYE to a Starwood property, but don't want to waste my time if there is little to no chance.

Normally, we go to Disney every year for NYE, but next year none of the kids will be joining us. We thought we my try some place different and warm.....and of course we thought of St John right away.

I checked the Tug Exchange Board for week 52 units an there really isn't much there, at any Caribbean destination. So that automatically does not give me much hope.

Those 51 and 52 weeks in the Caribbean are valuable rentals so a lot of owners rent them instead of exchanging them if they aren't using them. You might have better luck checking on TUG and Redweek for a rental and either renting your week to help pay for it or deposit it for an additional vacation.

Thanks......

I did check Redweek and Tug, not much going on there either.

It's a little late for 2014 and too early for 2015. You should start seeing 2015 postings for 52 in the next 3-4 months.

Poster above is correct --I own a week 52 and would never trade as it is too valuable not to rent it when I don't use it.
