Just reserved above Feb 15-22. Any preference in unit/building locations?
I assume ski conditions are ideal that time of year, but any feedback appreciated.
Listing of restaurants, ski rental, etc. also
Thanks!

How did you manage President's Day weekend?

Can't comment too much on restaurants since we eat in our unit slopeside, but I do know you can walk to many bars and restaurants right outside the resort. We love walking there and just walk in any restaurant that has room for us. I also like the Sunday breakfast buffet (when they offer it) at the Grand Summit (?) in the Canyons. Also the Deer Valley resort looks like it offers fine dining though we haven't tried that yet. We're renting our skis from either White Dog in downtown Park City or the one across Mountainside where they give us 20% discount.

For transfer, we will be using a private SUV by ProTrans. Check Alamo though for their SUV rates, but that might be high because of the week you're going to be there. I reserved with Alamo online, just in case, but at $2,000, we will most likely cancel it.

good afternoon...

Many times, high demand intervals are open on DC points as it takes HUGE# of points to snag them...

For example... Xmas 2015 is open at Summitt...

I prefer to look up at the mountains, so I would request a mountain view. The other "view" choice is looking into the common plaza area.

However, for me, I would take any top floor unit over a view because it's ski season and people clomp around in their ski boots in their units.

We own there and go every year. I personally prefer one of the two buildings closest to the pool area. Obviously overlooking the mountain is best for the view, but can get load a night. There are so few rooms overlooking the mountain though, that you are more likely to get a courtyard view. I always request NOT to overlook Deer Valley Drive because I was warned that it is quite noisy with car traffic. That request has always been honored so I have no first hand experience. There are great restaurants right in the lower level of the hotel...my personal favorites are Vinto (pizza casual), an Italian restaurant called Buona something or other (slightly more upscale) and Mustang (more fine dining). Zoom, which is right next door, is also excellent. There is also sushi and Mexican right in the plaza area, but those aren't my favorite (my husband likes both though). We take our kids with us and all of the restaurants have been accommodating, our kids are very used to going out to eat though. I recommend making reservations at least two weeks in advance for those dates, as all the families in the Salt Lake area have presidents week off from school, so it can get crowded.

We always rent an SUV from Costco's site (which has been enterprise the last few years) but a car is not necessary if you only plan on going to PCMR, Deer valley and the Canyons. We typically like to spend some time at Snowbird, Alta, Solitude and/or Snowbasin as well.

We always bring our own skis, so I can't comment on ski rentals.

If you have other questions, or want more specific recommendations based on budget, cuisine, etc. I'd be happy to answer...just ask.

Do ski conditions remain ideal in late March. Thinking of exchanging here during our spring break.

Utah's best snow is generally in late February to early March; pricing at the ski in / ski out lodges reflects that.

Ski conditions are obviously unpredictable, but I wouldn't hesitate to go to Park City in late March to ski.

May be too late to exchange for Spring Break, but this year someone got lucky with my unit. So yeah, try.

Sometimes, yes, sometimes no. First time I was there Spring Break 2006, conditions were ideal. Last time we were there in March 2012, the snow was melting. Prayed very hard for snow to come down, which it did eventually two days before we left.

Another year, we were there in last week of the season. Well, it dumped on the day before we arrived and the season was extended another week into late April.

So, you never know. Spring skiing is iffy if you like powder, but okay if you like to take your chances.

BTW, we will be there March in 2016 for Spring Break. We'll see.

Pricing into Spring Break covers regular season and is always fully booked.
