As of this moment (we're in an eplus situation)

we have a 2 bedroom dec 27 check-in which we already know we're going to arrive dec 28 (have to phone them)

i received my room preference email.

it looks to me like building choice there is not a choice because all the timeshares are in the one building?

is there anything i should be requesting floor wise, room wise etc... that will help us not get an ugly view? as exchangers i know that this is a long shot....

still hoping to get a dec 28 room kbv or dec 28 waiohai but this is what we have right now :)

my options seem to be low, middle, high floor - took high floor?
near elevator / not near elevator...... ummm not?

doesn't seem like i have a lot of customizations.......

it's 2 adults and 1 child. we've never been to kauai before. the other q i have is whether to stick with kbv or do the waiohai if it comes up.....

I would definitely switch to Waiohai if it became available. The Kauai Beach Club, while very nice, is a giant hotel that was converted to timeshares. Waiohai's units are two bedroom villas with full kitchens. Also, Waiohai is on the sunny side of the island.

according to a thread i found i'm zzaa - but i didn't think they stuck to the categorys on confirmation for exchangers?

Kauai Beach Club: ZZAA = 2BR Oceanview unit that locks off into 1BR & studio

i have been hoping to ultimately end up at waiohai but we'll see :)

KBC Oceanview 2 bdrm

The 2 bedroom OV are in Kahili tower and Nou Nou tower. Kahili Tower has the much better full-on ocean views. In Nou Nou you need to go out onto the angle balcony to have any chance to see ocean. And the Nou Nou units are probably 200 square feet smaller.

We spent one week at Kauai Beach Club in September, also exchanging via Interval International and managed to "upgrade" from a one bed to a two bed using e-plus.

We stayed in rooms 635 and 636 in the Kilohana Tower. Yes, its a converted hotel, but the views from these ocean front rooms were superb, and as these particular rooms were at the end of the block, we had an additional view over the swimming pool complex.

No worry; it's still a beautiful resort. Good restaurants on-site (Duke's, Barefoot Bar, Portofino), spa, awesome pool, nice beach and outstanding grounds. The limited kitchen is a downer for some, but the rest is special.
