I am new at HGVC, and just booked Orlando online at hgvclub.com. How do you book other HGVC hotels not on the Reservations screen?

Say if I wanted to book Seawatch On-the-Beach in Florida - it is listed as a HGVC resort, but I cannot see how to book it online in Reservations. I can see it on Resort Collection, but it is not listed on the Reservations page.

Do I just call the hotel directly and see what days are available, then give them my HGVC number and they dock the points?

For properties that are not available with the online reservation system, you need to call HGVC customer service. The number is listed on the website.

Calling "unlisted" resorts directly will not get you there.

Many of these resorts are affiliates with their own stable of TS owners, only some of whom deign to participate in HGVC. If an owner at one of these resorts makes a unit available to HGVC (use points elsewhere), its processed by the computers in the bowels of HGVC's Orlando offices.

If you owned a TS at an affiliates in SW Florida, wouldn't you rather stay there yourself, than fly off to Vegas? That is why inventory is so limited. Even so, I'd bet that HGVC could find a way to provide online reservations. However, HGVC says says that, when availability is spotty:
... (1) Listing would only give members false hope; and
... (B) Phone calls allow for "counselling" on alternatives.

I don't know if you are actually interested in Seawatch-on-the-Beach, or just using it as an example, but....

I own 2 weeks at Seawatch, 2 weeks on Sanibel, and 2 weeks at regular HGVC's. I always keep my Sanibel weeks, and 1 of my Seawatch weeks. But I do turn the other Seawatch week into points every year, so there is availability, albeit probably limited as noted above.

Chickensoop,

I stayed last month in Charter Club in Marco that I booked thru the Club about 3 months prior to check in. There seemed to be a few choices for the week that I wanted which was late June. It does seem to be a pain having to call to book but I've found that calling does get you in.
