Just stumbled onto the BBS...great resource for prospective buyers like me!

For someone like me who is really just buying in for the points, isn't looking to stay in the same resort every vacation, and isn't a big Hawaii person, does the home resort matter? In doing my research, the only difference seems to be in the MFs. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

Dave

PS Forgive me if this is in a sticky somewhere, but I couldn't find it

You are not missing a thing.

Unless you are trying to get into a difficult to book location, best to own with the resort with the lowest MF fee's if you only plan to book with points.

Hello Dave
Since you are not a big Hawaii fan, your home resort / purchase should be either the one with the lowest MF (that being Las Vegas) or the one with the best points/ MF ration (that being Kings Land).
Having home week advantage for the Lagoon Tower is a priority for us since that property is overrun during the summer months. Difficult to get in.

We now have a better idea of what we can do with HGVC, we will buy another 12600 at Kings Land. Those 21000 combined points will give us the desired freedom to pick and choose locations w/o much constraints to season or point availability.

IMHO, buying anything less than 7000 points is a waste of money...

Cheers
