Hi all - I found you all via google and I'm hoping for some reassurance. My hubby and I went to a presentation yesterday but did not buy in the end. They tried really hard but it really isn't in our budget right now. I did let them run a credit check so we signed that one form and now I totally freaking out since I didn't read it word for word as my kids were getting really bored.

If we had signed up to purchase something, it would've been lots more papers right??

You would have received plenty of papers, including specific instructions on how to cancel your purchase. They should have given you a copy of anything you signed, but I really doubt you signed a purchase agreement.

Never by at one of those presentations. If you're going to buy a timeshare, buy it resell on this website or eBay from a seller with a good feedback selling timeshares. If in doubt about who on eBay to buy from, ask us on TUG.

Let me ad to never agree to a credit check at a TS presentation. Getting a loan and paying interest makes the purchase from a developer even worse.

And I have to admit, it's kind of fun to tell them "No" you won't agree to let them run a credit check. It does not make them happy. They continue to insist it won't hurt your credit, and throughout the presentation will tell how they could tell you more, if they knew your credit rating.

Keep reading TUG - while many of us use and like our timeshare vacations, we have a lot of other posters who own ZERO to 1 timeshare (week, resort, a few points of whatever unit of measurement) .... Most of us LOVE to be on vacation and having a good time.

Find the LOUNGE thread .... topics can include all topics NOT timeshare related - but they certainly offer a window into all neighborhoods ... all without leaving home.

Really, many of us truly have better things to do with our time when at a vacation destination --- but telling them NO and waiting for the "MORE & BETTER" (and always the last offer as this JUST came into (or was found) the office).... and someone will lose their job, as they told our manager it was SOLD last week...).

The half-truths, the outright lies, the omitted details, the drama, the acting, the role playing .... AND they give you money to attend the live performance. ....
